Meet the Team

Amber Fender, LISW-CP/S
Owner, CEO

Amber’s ultimate passion is to contribute to post-traumatic growth within the community. As a cancer and childhood trauma survivor, Amber is continually inspired to help others navigate through difficult life transitions. She understands firsthand that, with the right support and adaptations, growth can flourish even from the most challenging situations. This message of resilience is at the heart of her work, which is why providing mental health support as a social worker became her calling in 2012.

After graduating from the University of Southern California with a Master’s in Social Work, Amber spent over seven years in public service working with hospice patients and their families, as well as survivors of crime. As a mother of two neurodivergent children, she has a deep appreciation for the unique challenges people face and finds immense fulfillment in her work as both a social worker and therapist. She is trained in EMDR, CBT, and Emotion-Focused Therapy, offering a non-judgmental, strength-based approach to help individuals honor their past and create a hopeful future. Amber specializes in trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and relationship or communication struggles, providing EMDR therapy for adults and children ages 6 and older.

In addition to her therapy work, Amber is passionate about art and creating through various mediums such as watercolor, repurposed materials, and oils. She believes that creativity is an important pathway for healing and expression. Amber is also pursuing certification as a trauma-informed yoga teacher, aiming to bridge the mind-body connection and support mental health. Through this practice, she seeks to provide a space for people in the community to heal, grow, and normalize the integration of the body in mental health care.

Furthermore, Amber is passionate about the role animals play in the healing process. She believes in the powerful concept of biophilia—the innate connection humans have with nature and animals—and how animals can contribute to emotional and psychological healing.

Amber is intent on breaking the stigma around mental health and the need for emotional healing. She is committed to creating open, compassionate spaces where individuals feel empowered to seek help and prioritize their emotional well-being. A key part of this vision involves connecting with other mission-based organizations that share her values, as collaboration strengthens the collective ability to address the mental health needs of the community.

Amber believes that working together with like-minded organizations amplifies efforts, creates more accessible resources, and fosters a more supportive environment for all individuals seeking healing.

Through her multifaceted approach, Amber is dedicated to empowering others to embrace their healing journey and live with resilience, creativity, and connection.
